The framework
IM PATCHED
Human accountability + digital action — one discipline, applied to systems and to people.
Patch the system. Understand the human. Build resilience.
Organizations patch technological vulnerabilities as a matter of course — scheduled, audited, non-negotiable. IM PATCHED argues the same discipline belongs to the behavioral, cultural, emotional and governance vulnerabilities inside people and organizations.
Born from doctoral research on gamified cybersecurity awareness, the framework connects what Dr. Moore sees in security operations with what she sees in human behavior: the same failures of attention, ownership and follow-through appear on both sides of the screen — and so can the same fixes.
The principle: organizations patch technological vulnerabilities; people and leaders must also identify and address their behavioral, cultural, emotional and governance vulnerabilities.
The bridge
Four nodes, one seam
- CybersecurityPatch the system — vulnerabilities identified, remediated, verified
- Human behaviorUnderstand the human — how people perceive, decide and respond under pressure
- AccountabilityOwn the gap — behavioral, cultural and governance vulnerabilities get owners too
- ResilienceBuild what holds — organizations and people that recover, adapt and endure
The intellectual bridge
One idea, three expressions
01
In research
The framework grew out of doctoral research on gamified cybersecurity awareness — how experiential learning changes engagement and risk decisions.
02
In the book
My Vulnerabilities Are PATCHED translates the principle into practice — patching, firewalls, debugging and identity protection as a path to human resilience.
03
On stage
Keynotes and executive sessions carry the framework to security leaders — from “Patching the Human Firewall” to “Are your Vulnerabilities Patched?”
Framework methodology is presented at the principle level here; official stage detail expands when Dr. Moore approves the full model.
